Every Summer the St. George Theatre
Restoration , Inc. will host a FREE intensive
four
week dance workshop to be held at the
St. George Theatre. 75 students will be
accepted for SGTR's "Outreach
Program".
These students will not pay what a four hour, five
day a week program would cost -- approximately
$400.00 per person. The students will study for
free. The program includes classes in ballet,
modern, jazz, hip-hop, tap, Irish step dancing,
dance films, preparation for auditions and
performance. |
The ensembles long term goal is to fund dance
training for gifted children from economically
challenged homes as well as having a scholarship
fund available to students pursuing a degree in
dance and theatre. Any student anticipating a dance
education will be eligible.
If you would like to help the SGTR's efforts
to provide programs for children in our
community who cannot afford tuition, any
grants or funding would be appreciated. Your
tax-deductible gift would be used prudently
and would directly enhance the lives of our
neediest young people.
Richmond County Savings Foundation & New
York Community Trust are proud sponsors of
the St. George Theatre Restoration, Inc.'s

Night of Theatre Program
The St. George Theatre Restoration, Inc. has
endorsed the principal of making the St. George
Theatre accessible to people in groups who would
otherwise not be able to afford such an
experience. We believe that enabling children,
seniors and those from underserved communities
to experience the theatre and all it has to
offer is fundamental to our role. By working
with community organizations and providing
outreach programs we hope to contribute to the
well-being of the community. Please call
718-442-2900 for more information.
In past years, we have donated at least 100
tickets to each of these organizations; Seaman's
Society, Project Hospitality, 120th Precinct
Police Council and Health Plus, St. Michael's
School, P.S.18, and the Teddy Atlas Foundation.
They distributed the tickets to over 1,000
families.
