An evening with legendary singer-songwriter Don McLean (“American Pie”, “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)”, “And I Love You So”) with special guest opener Firefall (“You’re The Only Woman”, “Just Remember I Love You”, “Strange Way”).
Don McLean is one of America’s most enduring singer-songwriters and is forever associated with his classic hits “American Pie” and “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)”. Since first hitting the charts in 1971, Don has amassed over 40 gold and platinum records worldwide and, in 2004, was inducted into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. His songs have been recorded by artists from every musical genre, most notably Madonna’s #1 recording of “American Pie” in 2000 and George Michael’s version of “The Grave” in 2003, sung in protest at the Iraq War.
In 2007, Don McLean shared his life story in Alan Howard’s biography, The Don McLean Story: Killing Us Softly With His Songs. In 2012, Don was also awarded the BBC Folk Music Lifetime Achievement Award and saw the release of “American Troubadour” on CD and DVD and the worldwide broadcast of the documentary of his name, charting Don’s life and career.
In an age where new bands come and go, Firefall has enjoyed a career that spans more than forty years and shows no sign of slowing down. Firefall’s commercial success includes three Gold albums, two Platinum albums and eleven chart-topping singles including “You Are The Woman”, “Just Remember I Love You”, “Strange Way”, “Cinderella”, “Headed for a Fall”, and “Staying with It” among others. The band’s biggest hit, “You Are the Woman” has been played on commercial radio more than 7,000,000 times and has also appeared in many movies and television shows.
Over the past four decades, Firefall has toured the world and shared stages with other iconic bands such as Fleetwood Mac, The Band, The Beach Boys, Kenny Loggins, Journey, Heart, ELO and Marshall Tucker Band.
Currently touring with three original members (Jock Bartley, David Muse, Mark Andes), longtime drummer Sandy Ficca and talented newcomer Gary Jones, Firefall continues to make great music for a loyal following, adding new fans at each show.
